We have moved hosts and brought up a new Tekkit Survival server for your crafting and exploring pleasure! Please visit our Tekkit Survival Server page for details!
On Sunday, 29 January 2012, the virtual private server hosting our Tekkit Survival Minecraft server experienced catastrophic data corruption. Our server’s map and all backups were lost in the event, leaving us with no path to restoring the world that we started on 13 January.
This leaves our Tekkit community in limbo, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We’ve just gotten to know many of you only recently, and are quite happy with the small community that’s taken up residence here. At this time, we are weighing our options for future hosting. Be assured that as soon as we have a concrete course of action for the future of our Tekkit server, we’ll let the community know.
As part of weekly maintenance, BioWare has rolled out patch 1.1.0b for Star Wars: The Old Republic. The update contains a number of bug fixes and optimizations, most notably an improvement to the ability delay issue that has been plaguing many players. Sources on Reddit and elsewhere report that perceived delay when activating player abilities has been drastically lessened.
Further, Georg Zoeller, BioWare’s Lead Combat Designer for SW:TOR, posted on the official forums to assure players that further fixes and refinements are coming. Such improvements include clearer ability cooldown animations, more accurate cast bars, and better synchronization between ability activation and character animations.

Stephen Reid, BioWare’s Community Manager for Star Wars: The Old Republic, has confirmed that Patch 1.1.0a has been deployed to the live servers. The patch addresses uncompetitive PvP issues on Ilum as well as class-inappropriate loot distribution in Operation: Karagga’s Palace.
In appreciation for their business, BioWare has announced this morning that Star Wars: The Old Republic players who are billed for their first subscription payment prior to 19 March 2012 will be granted the special title of Founder. The title will apply to all characters on the subscribing players account, and will not be available to new subscribers after the cutoff date.

UPDATE: BioWare will be performing this week’s maintenance and deployment of Patch 1.1 overnight:
Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we have rescheduled weekly maintenance for eight hours on January 18th, 2012 from 2AM CST (12AM PST/3AM EST/8AM GMT/9AM CET) until 10AM CST (8AM PST/11AM EST/4PM GMT/5PM CET). This downtime is in preparation for our first major game update, Rise of the Rakghouls! All game servers and SWTOR.com will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than eight hours, but could be extended.
BioWare has announced that today’s planned deployment of Star Wars: The Old Republic Patch 1.1 has been postponed. Apparently there were some issues with the game’s first major post-launch content release that were brought to light on BioWare’s Public Test Server Forums, and the developers opted to let the patch spend more time in the oven.
As of press time, BioWare has not indicated a new concrete release date for the patch. They have indicated that they will announce a new release date to the community as soon as it’s available.
A reminder to anyone who is having difficulty connecting to the Tekkit Survival server: you must register for a forum account AND must post in the Server Registration thread with your Minecraft IGN.
Thanks!
Last week, BioWare released this video announcing first content patch for Star Wars: The Old Republic. Patch 1.1, entitled Rise of the Rakghouls, will introduce new Operation content, a new Flashpoint, and a laundry list of game tweaks and bug fixes. Patch 1.1 is coming on January 17, 2012.
The new Flashpoint, “Kaon Under Siege,” pits players agains the famed rakghouls of KOTOR fame in an attempt to stop their virulent zombie-like plague from spreading across the galaxy. Karagga’s Palace, a level 50 Operation, will be getting expanded from its current single boss to a full five bosses. Further, level 50 players will now have their own Warzone PvP tier, segregating them and their high-end gear from the rest of the player base.
BioWare indicated that Patch 1.1 is the first of a two-part story arc, with the second chapter being slated for release in March 2012. This second installment is expected to add Guild Banks and the full Legacy System.
