Blizzard Entertainment has published a blog post previewing the user interface overhaul coming in the planned World of Warcraft patch 6.0.2. The patch also features the gameplay and graphical systems updates intended to prepare for the upcoming release of the game’s fifth expansion, Warlords of Draenor.
The UI changes include an improved map and quest log that intelligently orders active quests and provides detailed information about objectives on the relevant cartography. The Toy Box feature provides a dedicated account-wide storage area for “toy” items that have been steadily accumulating over the near-decade the game has been online. The Mount interface now grants the ability to designate certain mounts as “favorites,” and a new Summon Random Favorite Mount button duplicates the functionality that was once exclusive to third-party addons.
Inventory management is also set to become easier, with bag sorting and filtering coming to the stock game. A 98-slot bank tab for reagents will permit players to store their profession materials outside their personal inventory while retaining the ability to access them in the field for crafting.
World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor launches for Windows PC and Mac OS X on 13 November 2014.
